PATSY’S PICKS - FAQs

What is Patsy’s Picks: A Journey Through Stories?

Patsy’s Picks is a digital book club led by Patsy Clairmont, designed to guide its members through a monthly reading journey. Each month features one handpicked book—often a favorite of Patsy or from her circle of trusted authors—and members explore the story through reading, discussion, and reflection.

It’s more than a book club: it’s a community where faith, life, and storytelling intersect, and readers are invited to grow together, share insights, and deepen their understanding.

Why join Patsy’s Picks?

When you become part of the club, you’ll enjoy:

  • Monthly book selection — titles chosen to inspire, challenge, and delight.

  • Digital study materials — guides, prompts, reflection questions, or other tools to deepen engagement with each book.

  • Exclusive video content — in a typical month, you’ll receive:

    1. A live Zoom session (with Patsy and, sometimes, the author)

    2. A “Life Application” video from Patsy, exploring lessons from the book

    3. A “Storytelling Exercise” video to help you unearth and share your own story

  • Private community — access to an exclusive Facebook group where members can connect, discuss, encourage one another, ask questions, and share insights. Bring-Your-Own-Book model — members purchase (or borrow) the monthly selection independently; the club provides the curriculum, not the physical copy.

How does membership work?

  • Membership gives you access to the study materials, video content, and community for that month (or longer, depending on subscription).

  • There is no physical book shipped through the club; you’re expected to acquire your own copy (via purchase, borrow from library, ebook, etc.).

  • Membership is recurring, month by month, unless you cancel.

  • OR you may purchase a membership for the full year in one payment.

  • If you sponsor a child through the club’s partnership with Compassion International, your Patsy’s Picks membership is free for one year.

Is this a faith-based club / Christian book club?

Yes — Patsy Clairmont’s work, voice, and approach are rooted in Christian faith. The club operates with an awareness of spiritual themes, encourages reflection through a faith lens, and often invites lessons that intersect with life, belief, and purpose.

That said, the books chosen often have broad appeal and opportunities for universal reflection, so membership is open to anyone who appreciates spiritual insight in literature and discussion.

When does each book cycle begin and end?

  • A new book is introduced monthly.

  • Study materials, video content, and community discussion are aligned with that month’s reading schedule.

  • At the end of the month, a new title is announced and the cycle repeats.

(We will let you know the book titles for the three consecutive months at a time)

What if I can’t finish the book in time?

You can still participate! The materials, videos, and community are intended to enrich your reading experience, not penalize pace.
Members are encouraged to engage in discussion as they can. Whether you finish early or later, you’ll benefit from hearing others’ perspectives and reflections.

What is included in “study materials”?

Each month, study materials may include:

  • Reading guides or chapter breakdowns

  • Reflection questions

  • Prompts for journaling or discussion

  • Optional assignments or “homework” (e.g. a short writing/stories prompt)

  • Additional resources (articles, recommended reading)

How do I join the private community / Facebook group?

Once you become a member, instructions will be provided to join the club’s private online Facebook Group community. You’ll need a Facebook account. The community is exclusive to members for discussing the book, engaging with content, asking questions, and sharing stories.

How do the Zoom sessions work?

  • The live Zoom session happens monthly.

  • In many cases, Patsy hosts it; occasionally the author of the book may join for a conversation.

  • You’ll receive a link and instructions ahead of time (via email or in your member portal).

  • If you can’t attend live, a recording will be made available so you can view it later.

What if the author doesn’t participate live?

Even when the author is unable to attend, the monthly session is still led by Patsy, and the content remains rich with questions, reflection, and story connection. The club’s design accommodates those situations.

Can I cancel membership?

Yes, you can cancel. Just email us at info@patsyclairmont.com, and we will help you with this.

Do I need to live in a certain country or region?

No — Patsy’s Picks is digital, so anyone with internet access can join, as long as they can get the book in whatever format (print, ebook, library, etc.).

How is this different from other book clubs?

  • Direct access to Patsy Clairmont’s voice and guidance through videos, live sessions, and storytelling coaching.

  • faith-rooted and story-oriented approach — focusing not just on reading, but on what the stories teach and how they connect with our lives.

  • Rich multimedia content and a structured, monthly rhythm.

  • A dedicated community of readers who share life, faith, and stories together.

How do I get started?

  1. Sign up / become a member via the Patsy’s Picks page.

  2. Once registered, you’ll receive welcome instructions, including how to access the community, where to view study materials and videos, and information about the current month’s book.

  3. Acquire the monthly book (by purchase, library, ebook).

  4. Read along, watch the content, join discussions, attend (or view) the live Zoom, and engage with the community!

  5. When the month ends, the next book is announced and the cycle continues.
